Making $5.5k a month from Movie Streaming website

Hi everyone. On dec 2015 I came around a post in here by greyjoker, about how he made 10K by movie streaming website. It changed my life. I deployed a website on dec 2015 itself and now I'm making about 6K from that website alone. I'm not going to disclose my website, but here's my ad center snapshot.

While greyjoker has composed a perfect tutorial on this thread (I can't link to it since you I'm new here), for a beginner I found getting a VPS, and setting it up and uploading movies way too overwhelming. Needless to say, thank you grey joker for your method, it changed my life.

Not only that, I'm poor. I did not have the money to buy a VPS or even a domain to be honest.

I was adding movie links manually from other websites which itself took at really lot of work, but every time any of those streaming links went down I had to start all over. So i eventually got tired of it and gave up until I came across a stackoverflow. So today I'm just going to tell you how to start small. Your very first streaming website. So lets get to it -

Things that you don't need:
1. Money
2. Coding skills
3. Server or domain

Things that you'll need:
1. Time - First for the initial setup, then just to add movies that you please.

Setting up website: Since we don't wanna spend on hosting, we'll set up our
website using wordpress, blogspot, weebly, wix.
Don't use tumblr as it recently started banning blogs as soons as they see movie streaming embed link on their page.
1. I used blogspot because I was familier with it. But go with wordpress. It's much better.
2. Go to wordpress (com) and sign up there. Use a simple dark theme. Fill in the blanks like site name,url and everything. I won't go into detail about this since there's already so many articles out
there.

How that we have a basic blank wordpress website set up, now we will add movies one by one.
Keep in mind we are only going to add top 50 movies of each year from 2012-16. There's no point going for old movies since it won't get you much traffic.

3. Now add a new post on wordpress. Google <movie name> imdb, ex: batman v superman imdb Go to the first result of google and copy the entire data as shown in the picture above and try to achieve something like this:

To get the image url from imdb just right click on the movie poster on imdb and click "Copy Image address" on the pop up menu. (For chrome)

Now, under Categories & Tags, Add genre names one by one, and also the year for example, add these for tags: Action, Adventure, 2016

Go to youtube search <movie name> trailer, embed that link on your page.

4. Changing the description of the movie: Since the imdb description is widely scraped and used, it'd be better for you to not use that for SEO reasons, just google <movie name> review and skip a few pages of google results to find a less used review and copy it and paste it under on your blog post.

5. Adding stream links:
Google Vidsource API, go to the first result, sign up. On the top menu click documentation, and it'll give you all the details you need to use it.

Example: if you want to add deadpool on your website go to that movies imdb page and check out the url which will have tt1431045 at the end of it.
take a note of the numbers after title/tt in the url, here which is 1431045.

Now as it says in the vidsource api documentation add an iframe
which the url being like at the end

apikey={your api key}&imdbid={movie imdb id}&redirecton=true

and just replace the api key with your key and movie imdb id, which the imdb id that we got before hand. For example to stream deadpool on your page the iframe url would be at the end

apikey=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX&imdbid=1431045&redirecton=true

6. A little bit of SEO: I've came a long way from basic on page SEO to 3 Tier backlinking but to keep it simple, you should be doing a decent on page SEO. Otherwise it'll be hard to get any traffic from google. Already a lot of guides on this. But here's some essentials -

a. Go to keywordtool (dot ) io and enter free <movie name> ex: free batman v superman. It'll give you a bunch of keywords. Copy them one by one and use them for the following elements.

i) Post title
ii) Post Url
iii)3 on tags
iv) Anywhere else you can think of. But don't over do it.

7. Monetizing
For this you will need a ad center account. Google it get an account.
Talk to your account manager for this, he'll help you out through out. But to start with this is what you wanna do under the trailer and the actual stream player

To do this google "button png" click on images tab, save the button images you like. Add those on your post. Add links to them (your account manager on ad center will give you these links).

8. Repeat and add movies
Repeat this process and add at least 100 movies within 10 days. If possible more.

9. Getting Traffic
This is the most important and challenging part, but as long as you have patience and will to work, you'll be fine. Here's what you can do -

0. Google "Submit Url" and click on the first result, and submit your url to google (need a google account).
1. Add your links on BestOfStreamingVideo and MovieStreamsites sub reddits on reddit.
2. Make a pinterest, twitter, facebook, google plus (get creative with this list of social networks) page and put your link there. The more pages you have the better.
3. Interlink these social pages. For example, share your facebook fan page over google plus page and so on. Also go to other facebook, google plus fan pages and comment your website links.
4. Google "where to watch free movies" or "sites to watch free movies" (get creative with this keyword) and go on the article pages and ask if they can add your website on their article. Most of the pages will show you that your comment is stuck at moderation, some of them will allow it and some of them will not. Comment on at least 30 pages every day when you wake up (or any other time, just don't skip it)
5. Go on various movie discussion forums (or other forums, get creative) and put a thoughtful comment or post like 'if you liked dead pool you are gonna love the new captain america civil war movie <your link>".

With all this google should index your website (you can check by googling "site:mywebsitedomain.com"). There are a ton of ways to create bank links. Google it, keep doing it. It'll take AT LEAST 2 WEEKS before you get one single visitor from google. Also google "how to get indexed by google" if you find out it's not indexed within the first 4 days of doing this.

Eventually you will get visitors and you will make sales. If you make 4 days a month, that's $2/day which is great for a n00b, at least that's what i earned on my first months.

My 3-15k monthly story - Movie Streaming niche

So let me share what i've learned so far about movie streaming business which became my full time job.
Currently im around 4-5k monthly.
I used to have 15k months when Google just picks you up and get your server offline, this is when you know you have to optimize your site and get some nice cash :))

I'll describe you the process of creating my first movie site based on wordpress.

Hosting

You will need offshore hosting if you want to deal with this illegal niche without having any troubles at all. I use https://crowncloud.net/openvz.php and im more than happy with them. They are not the cheapest either but you won't ever heard about any complains on your content.

Domain

First i've took a long name .com domain containing 3 important movie niche keywords because my final goal was steady income from SE traffic. Short, easy rememberable domain name? Well maybe, but only if you're building a brand which is IMO hard to do nowdays in movie niche because of dense competition.
Nowdays they take a lot of .com domains out after they become too big so maybe it's smart to take .to domain in advance which gains you some kind of security i guess. But i donno shit about SEO and .to domains and with security topic about .to domains im not so sure either, i just see it on movie4k and kickass used to have it, now they use .so.
So far i must have i've been lucky with .com, no problems at all and im using name.com as domain register.

SEO

Every post that i make must be unique, so the movie descriptions are my own description after i read imdb description, this way you're unique and you're ok with Google which is most important.
For every post i add around 3-5 tags containing movie name and my 3 targeted movie niche keywords from my domain name.
For extra info i add imdb do follow link because Google doesn't mind that huge site but on the movie streaming links i add rel="nofollow".
I've made sitemap and using Yoast seo plugin which is doing great for me. Of course you'll need to tweak titles, descriptions but it's not hard.

Social

Social Locker is one of the best investments i've made in my life. Price is low, plugin is GREAT, updated regulary, support is FANTASTIC! SO basicly how i use it is that i lock the first streaming player with it and i write on the locker that the best copy is currently locked. If visitors want to see the best copy they need to click like, tweet or g+1 os simply wait for xx seconds to auto unlock. With this locker you will get a lot of social pings and SEARCH ENGINES LOVE THAT this days.
Along with Social locker i do use regular social button at the end of the post and the like box so that visitors can become my fans. Daily i update my FB fanpage with new releases which is also good for the SEO.

Video hosts

So the first link i offer as embed, the rest 3 links i give them as simple target blank links.
After trying out dosens this is my top 5 list VideoMega.tv, Cloudzilla.to, VideoWood.tv, Streamin.to, FileHoot.com
They all pay on time, and they are all fast when it comes to streaming.

Money talk

But there is also a fifth link. This one MAKES ME MONEY. It's linked to the affiiate player. Inside link you can also add keyword which changes the title on the player making it realistic to the visitors. The affiliate that i use has a really professional looking player which starts playing then stops and asks for the free registration. Also below the player are bunch of fresh comments which makes it look even more realistic.
My affiliate is working on invitations only i think and it's paying for the free 5 days trials. Biggest sale is 38$ from Norway. Mostly EU countries have sick rates.

If you have a good upload or VPS you can do your own uploads and also earn from those Video hosts, but if you don't or you're just lazy uploading, you can simply get links from some huge site such as movie4k.to or similar.

Initial traffic

So our goal is steady SE traffic after some time, but to get there you need some initial traffic. Sure you've heard of Youtube methods of getting some clicks but that's pretty crawded nowdays. Uploading is not so easy job, you will need accounts, maybe proxies etc. and you'll get banned a lot. Comments are better solution for Youtube IMO.
This is how i started. I've spammed the shit out of IMDB.com :D they have a forum in which you can post full links as a fresh users. After 10 or so comments you get some time restrictions but that's ok, you'll get to traffic anyway.
You can also spam on the Facebook, on the official fanpages, just need to be creative such as "i finally found HD of this movie, pm me if you want it", this way you spam much more intelligently then with "watch here: LINK" approach.
You need free domains for spamming?? Well this is the smallest problem because there is a service afraid.org, directory with about 50k domains i guess and you can use them as subdomains, it's even free to register and to use 5 domains at the same time.
If you don't like losing time to make spamming accounts for example for imdb.com you simple use microworkers.com you can get 10 cents accounts there and you don't have to worrie about proxies, emails etc :)

Payouts

Affiliate pays me out on Payoneer which i love the most because i don't have complications with my country taxes and other BS, i simply get the money out of the atm machines.
Video hosts pay me out on Paypal.

Site optimization (if you hit jackpot one day)

So if Google gets you into money train one day, it may take down your server like it did to mine, pray for it to happen! :D
Now i have 122$ VPS in Panama. Im using W3 total cache plugin, cloudflare cache and what is most important i have kicked out wordpress comments and replaced them with facebook comments. Wordpress comments suck and with a big site those don't work or you must have a GIANT server to handle those. Also i've kicked out search field and made a list of all movie titles instead. I've placed all movie posters on the imgur.com so i host only text. Also forget about visitor count plugins for wordpress, whose will rape your database. Now the site is super fast and it can handle a lot of traffic at once, for the example 30k in 1 hour is no problem at all (i'm not telling i have that much).

Here is a new method I want to share with you! It's a method to easily create popups containing CPA offers. There is a reason there are so many popups/popunders on the internet, they simply work and are an easy way to generate passive income. It can be challenging to get into the popup-game and a lot of people will give-up on them after being told popups have too low of a conversion rate to be profitable. It's true that the conversion rate of popups is low compared to other ad-methods, but with a bit creative thinking and a little bit of practice you can start making money very easily! In this thread I will be helping you to understand the strategy and help you make money with popups today.
The great thing about popups is that it's an easy way to create a passive income. When you have found a popups strategy that is profitable and works, it will keep on working and making money for you without you having to do any work. You can then start popup campaigns for similar offers and scale your operation with a couple of clicks on your computer.

The Popup cycle:
1. Create a popup page
2. Find good relevant CPA offer to put in popup
3. Start popup campaign
4. Keep running campaign if it's profitable

These four steps are a cycle: When you have found a strategy that works, you keep running the campaign and scale it up by increasing its budget and starting parallel campaigns based on the same strategy. If you have found that your strategy doesn't work, you start again at point 1 and try again.
Your success with popups depends entirely on this cyclical principal! If you stop trying because your first strategy was not profitable like most people do, you will fail making money with popups and will become one of those people who tells people it can't be done. If you follow the cycle and be persistent you will succeed and your campaigns will keep bringing in money for you passively. The more times you go through this cycle, the more money you'll be able to make.
Let's say there are these magical dice that will give you 10.000 dollars if you throw a six. Will you stop throwing the dice after 1 throw or will you keep throwing the dice until you get a six? The answer is obvious in this case, but it's hard to realize that this principal is true when the choice isn't that apparent.

In this post I will guide you through these 4 steps and teach you how to follow this cycle. The only thing you will have to do is be persistent and keep on throwing that dice!

What do you need? 

- a way of hosting your popup pages Since the popup pages you'll be making are lightweight, mostly static pages, you can try free webhosting to host your popups. But because these popups will be generating a LOT of traffic, it's hard to find a good free webhosting service that will alllow you that much traffic without throttling your connection. I would advice you to get cheap reliable webhosting to save you the hassle of all this. You can however try a couple of free hostingsites to try this method out. I use Godaddy webhosting myself since I already had it to host other things and it's pretty cheap and reliable in my experience.​

Step 1. Creating the popups

So this is the first step in the cycle and probably the most important one. Since this method fails or succeeds based on the amount of times you can go through the cycle, it's important to find a way to be able to make popups quickly and with good quality. The popups should scale with the size of the visitor's screen and should be lightweight so they load very fast, otherwise the visitor can close the popup before it's loaded completely.
If you have experience with HTML and javascript, you can make these pages yourself in notepad. If your webskills are a little bit rusty, you can use a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) html editor to make the popups in. Creating these pages can be quite the hassle, but when you have a couple of good looking popups, you can use them as templates for other popups. You can also look at other people's popups you find on the internet and look at their sourcecode and copy it, but I would advise you to make your own.


I myself use a landingpage website called Purelander. It has hundreds of popup templates you can edit online and then download as a .zip file you can upload on your webhosting. I use it since I dislike editing html and with this I can make popups and edit them very quickly without much hassle. It's 25 dollars for six months of access to the template editor. I will be using this website to build the popups in this method, but you can try and make them from scratch if you want.

Using Purelander to create the popups:
-Login to Purelander and go to Landing Pages
-Browse the landing pages and choose a template you like
-Edit the page to your liking by clicking on "use it"
- Download zip file with popup page you can then upload

Here are some example templates you could use, there are a lot of them so look around for the best one and get familiar with what popups look like. You can also browse around on the internet without an adblocker to see the different popups in action. If the popups are used in the wild by others, good chance they are profitable!

Let's edit one of these as an example! Click on "Use it"


This is what the popup editor looks like:

Go ahead and edit the title and the text the visitor will see when your page pops up.
You can also choose features like javascript alerts to warn the visitor when they try to close the page and a buzzing feature for mobile. Try them out and check if you like them, these can improve the conversionrate immensely or can annoy the visitor depending on their use.
Of course the most important thing to edit is the destination the CALL TO ACTION button will lead the visitor to. This is as you probably guessed the affiliate link of your CPA offer(more on this later)! Click preview to see what the popup will look like to the visitor. When you are satisfied with the popup, click on download to download the popup as a .zip file.
The .zip file contains an index.html file and a directory called "CSS".
Go to your webhosting and upload index.html to the root directory. Make a directory called "CSS" and upload the contents of the zip file under CSS.
And that's it, your popup is LIVE! Try the popup under different webbrowsers to check if it scales correctly with the windowsize and all of the features work. Take note if some of the features don't work with certain browsers, this information will be valuable in step 3.
Now that we have a working popup, let's see how we can find the best CPA offer to use!

Step 2. Find good, relevant CPA offers

There are a lot of CPA offers that will work with popups and be profitable, the art is to find the right one.
Since the conversionrate of popups is very low, what CPA offers should we pick?


We should pick CPA offers that:
-Have a high rate per action
-Are easy to fulfill for the visitor
-High value for the visitor

So what does this mean in practice? We are looking for CPA offers that offer something for free to the visitor that is normally not free or the visitor can win valuable stuff by completing the action.

Good offers are for example:
-Free app install with a redirect to the Playstore
-Free registration on an adult webcamsite ("free registration, chat now!")
-Win prizes(iPhones e.g.) by completing a survey

To start, look on CPA websites for PPI (pay per install) offers. The best kind of PPI offers are the ones that redirect to an appstore. People trust appstores and completing the offer is one click away for them. Popups with webcamlinks are great too if you can find a webcamsite that allows you to embed a cam directly into the popup.
So how can we predict whether a CPA offer will be profitable? It's pretty easy with this formula:

Minimum actions per thousand to profit= CPM/CPA

So let's say you found a CPA offer that will give you 0.60 dollars for every action completed by the visitor and it will cost you 1.20 dollars per thousand impressions to show the popup. This means that the minimum number of visitors that have to complete the offer to be profitable = CPM/CPA = 1.20/0.60= 2 actions
So if more than 2 visitors complete the offer for every 1000 impressions, you will profit! 1 in 500 people that see the popup will have to complete the offer, if you think this is a realistic goal taking in regard the value of the offer, you have found the correct CPA offer. Now let's move on forward and start our popup campaign!

Step 3. Start your popup campaign

Now it's time to finally start our popup campaign so visitors can see our popups and complete the offers. You can make a deal with website owners in the niche you are targeting to show your popups, but this is a lot of hassle and too much work for the value you get back. The best way is to find a popup-network that is specialized to show popups.


A good popup network:
- Let's you choose your target group very precisely (geographic- device - browser - language targeting)
- Has good tools to track the performance of your popups
- Let's you blacklist poor performing website on a site per site basis
- offers popups, popunders, tabunders and tabovers
- Fast approval of your campaign
- Let's you adjust the speed of your campaign


Look around to find the network you like the best.

I myself use the Popads adnetwork because you can target niches very easily by category and pinpoint the exact combination of device, browser, language and location of the group you want to target. Here's a screenshot of what options you have in Popads:

Whenever someone visits a website, there is an auction to decide what popup is loaded for the visitor. The highest bidder wins.The more you choose to target high tier, valuable visitors, the more you will have to bid to have your popups shown to the visitor. If you put your bidding limit too low, your popup will never show. If your bidding limit is very high, a lot of visitors will see your popup in a short time, put you'll pay more on average. Whether these more expensive impressions actually convert more is up to debate and depends on whether you have defined the target group well and the quality of your popups.
When you have finished filling in the campaign details, clicking on "summary" will give you a prediction on the number of impressions per day. This depends on your bidding limit and the value of your target group. If the average bid for your traffic is on the high side, try a larger target group. You will have to play around with the bidding limit to see what will work for you. If you have a well defined target group, try and aim for 10,000-30-,000 impression per day for starters.

Let's take a look at an example of a bid distribution map you can find under "summary":

So let's say this is the bid distribution map you see. We can see that for this target group about 90,000 impressions per day are going for a rate between 0.15 dollars and 1.24 dollars per mille. For starters you can put your limit on 1.30 dollars to win these auctions and have your popup shown for these 90k impressions per day. Try to think why people are willing to pay more for certain target group traffic by playing around with the targeting parameters in your campaign and watch the bars change. You can learn a lot by trying to analyze these prediction numbers.
When you are done, you can start your campaign! The campaign will have to be approved and will then start showing popups to visitors.

Step 4. Keep running your campaign if it's profitable

Now here's the exciting step. Follow your campaign and check how many offers are fulfilled. If the number of actions is more than the minimum we calculated in step 2, the campaign is profitable!
If it's not, try and change your bidding limit in your campaign settings and play around with the target group parameters. Check how fast your popup loads under a lot of traffic. Check the number of people who click on your affiliate link compared to the number of impressions, is the call to action
good enough? Make hypotheses of what can be improved and test them by playing around with the settings.
Still not profitable? This is perfectly normal, go back to step 1 and try the cycle again. Because you already have a template ready for your popup and since your campaign is approved, going through the cycle will just take a couple of minutes. Keep on throwing that dice until you hit a profitable campaign!
So what to do if your campaign is profitable? Scale up the number of impressions per day to increase your profit. Copy the campaign for similar CPA offers and start parallel profitable campaigns. Now you're making real money! Congrats on your new passive income!



.Some tips and tricks
-If you want to test a hypothesis you can try a/b testing the changes and compare the conversionrate of the two variations of your popup. Beware of increased loadingtimes though, these are disastrous for popups.

GUIDE $25/DAY - Have more than 5,000 followers on Social Media?

It's been almost 4 months since i started my journey monetizing my social media channels and i would like to share my story with you and guide you as well. As an undergraduate student, i had to move to a new town and start my life there while studying business administration.

Though, my parents had a very hard time helping me financially, so i had to find a job to pay my rent for the next 3 years.

While i was studying, i had a lot of free time to spend on the internet and my roomate was obsessed as well with social media channels so we started an account together about fitness motivation both on Instagram and Youtube.

We spent a lot of time following-unfollowing, posting on daily basis etc. and we gained around 7k-8k followers in less than three months.

That was a big deal for us and we felt like we could start selling promotion posts to make some extra cash. We searched around the internet but we had a little success since 8k followers on a over-saturated niche maybe wasn't that catching at all.

3) Make sure your accounts look professional and eye-catching. Appearance plays a big role. Make sure to delete bad or unrelated posts and also those with low engagement.

4) Before you send your first proposal, make sure to create 5-6 posts that are of high quality, and contain a description well-written without grammatical errors. 5) The biggest and most important part is the proposal itself. Writing a great campaign proposal takes more time and effort but it's absolutely worth the time spent. I recommend to take time and write a proposal that if you were the one that read it, you would hire the person that sent it. I have a template to suggest, but the best thing is to take it and make the appropriate changes that will help you get the job.

Tips for a good proposal:
1. Research the seller. Take the time to learn something about the brand and make sure you customize your proposal to show that to the brand.

2. Explain why their product or brand will be a great fit for you channel and audience. If you have a smaller subscriber count this is the perfect time to sell yourself and your channel.
Give them the average likes/comments/favourites your posts get and mention why you think their product will get the maximum exposure. You can also offer a small extra just to show that you're going to be generous if they choose you. Better, stick to permanent posts.

3.Only at the end, you should mention your followers number and make clear they're all targeted and active. Thanks them for their time and tell them you look forward for a long time relationship, it will make clear that you offer quality and you're sure they will be satisfied.

4. Don't forget: Good grammar and professional vocabulary always catch the attention! Mercilessly edit the whole thing before you send it. Repeat the process.

5. DON'T send the same proposal to multiple people. You could end up losing a sponsorship just because someone is selling two or three products and got three similar messages of you. Try to make them look different and appropriate for each case but the main point could stay the same.
